The Trzebownisko commune is located in the central part of the Podkarpackie province. From south it borders with Rzeszow – the bigest city in this region. The commune is aslo located in southern part of the Sandomierska Basin. It occupies an area of 9,029 hectares and is inhabited by over 23 thousand people. The main river here is Wisłok. In southeastern part of this area has been preserved the bed of the old Wislok that has numerous meanders.
The commune has 10 villiges: Jasionka, Laka, Lukawiec, Nowa Wies, Stobierna, Tajecina, Terliczka, Trzebownisko, Wolka Podlesna i Zaczernie.

Trzebownisko has an industrial-agricultural character with the typical farms fragmentation in this region.
The transport is very well developed which is a result of good accomodation. Trzebowisko has in total: 13 km of highway, 6.4 km of expressways, 0.9 km of national roads, 16 km of provincial roads, 48.6 km of district roads and 59.6 km of municipal roads. The density of district roads in Trzebownisko is 53.82 km/100 km2 and exceeds the average in the Subcarpathian province.
In the Trzebownisko Commune is located the Rzeszow-Jasionka International Airport tha has a comprehensive and well-equipped terminal, with a current capacity of 720 passengers per hour and a target capacity of 1,400 passengers per hour after future expansion. Moreover the airport has 19 stands for various types of aircraft and 2 control towers. The airport also includes two hangars with a total area of 9400 sqm. The airport has modern navigation and lighting systems. It will help plains to land even in difficult weather conditions. Rzeszow-Jasionka Airport operates passenger flights (regular and charter) as well as cargo. In 2015 was launched the second in the country, a phytosanitary checkpoint.
In Trzebownisko area is a Podkarpackie Science and Technology Park AEROPOLIS which is part of the SEZ Euro-Park. This area is in the immediate vicinity of the Rzeszów-Jasionka international airport and lie at the intersection of major transportation routes, i.e. national road No. 9, national road No. 19, A4 highway, expressway S19. In the immediate vicinity of the Park is also railroad line No. 71. Thanks to this goods produced on the territory of AEROPOLIS can be easily transported to their customers, both by land – rail and road transport, as well as by airplains. Two zones that belong to the Park are located in the Trzebownisko Commune. Those zones are: S1 Arrival Zone with an area of 106 hectares and S1-3 Zone occupying an area of 37.45 hectares.
A very convenient location of the commune that borders directly on a large provincial urban agglomeration, results in easier access for residents to secondary and higher education, cultural facilities and health care.
