On 15 August, Poland celebrates Polish Armed Forces Day, established to commemorate the victorious Battle of Warsaw of 1920. This year marks the 106th anniversary of this historic event, which has become a symbol of the courage, determination and sacrifice of Polish soldiers.
Polish Armed Forces Day is an opportunity to honour soldiers and all those who contribute to the safety and security of Poland and its people. This year’s celebrations are held under the motto “Polska SAFE – Bezpieczna Polska” (“Poland SAFE – A Safe Poland”).
A wide range of events has been planned across the country to mark the occasion. These include a ceremonial military parade along Wisłostrada in Warsaw, a naval parade in Gdynia, military equipment displays, meetings with soldiers and performances by military bands.
On 15 August, let us come together to pay tribute to all those who safeguard the security, freedom and independence of our country.
